TransOptions provides classroom and outdoor environmental education programs that explain, entertain, and empower. Our air quality education program focuses on common causes of air pollution and its effects on our bodies and planet over time.
We use games and hands-on materials to teach that active transportation and conserving fuel and energy help prevent the sources and hazards of ozone and particle pollution. We also teach the effects of emissions and weather on air quality, how to find and read the air quality index, and how to use the air quality index as a guide for safe activity outdoors.
Students will gain the ability to choose and recommend simple everyday actions that help create healthier air in their neighborhoods, as well as think more broadly about how their personal choices have a global environmental impact.
